Swiss FinTech Startup Radicant and its sustainable banking approach

Swiss Neo-Bank Radicant Continues With Banking License

Radicant, the Swiss-based green FinTech subsidiary of Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank (BLKB) has received its banking license from FINMA and is preparing to enter the market. Radicant does not see itself as another neo-bank in confusing garb. The FinTech company focuses on sustainability and wants to change banking and redefine the traditional bank according to its statements. The BLKB subsidiary is the “first sustainable, collaborative and personal life companion. The Radicant market entry is planned for the end of 2022.

The idea of the “personal life companion” basically belongs to every bank’s plan, whether traditional or neo. Customers can only be well served if their bank is aware of changing life situations and can respond to the evolving demands with appropriate offers.

Radicant, however, wants to go much further here, using data to revolutionize personalized financial services and take care of all financial needs – around the clock. And above all, as a lifelong financial advisor.

At the heart of all these goals and plans are sustainability and transparency, especially regarding investments. Radicant is committed to working with customers to help achieve the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 and beyond.

Radicant is not utterly alone among neo-banks with its general sustainability approach, but the FinTech-Company may pursue and implement this claim much more consistently. Whether and how exactly these differences are to be created will become apparent as soon as FinTech operates in the market.

There are no concrete offers from Radicant, but that is about to change. With the currently granted banking license as a universal bank, FINMA has given the go-ahead for the neo-bank.
