In March 2021, Fidelity International (Fidelity), a global asset manager with more than $767 billion in total client assets, and Moonfare, the leading digital investment platform for high-quality private markets funds, announced an exclusive strategic distribution partnership. Recently, they expanded their partnership with Fidelity Asia in Hong Kong and Singapore.
Fidelity acquired a minority stake in Moonfare and appointed Christian Staub, Managing Director Europe Fidelity International, to join Moonfare’s advisory committee. Fidelity is the first institutional investor to take an equity stake in Moonfare, which was founded in 2016 and named one of LinkedIn’s top 10 start-ups in Germany in 2020. So far, their joint platform has been available to clients in critical parts of Europe, including Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, and the United Kingdom.
Global asset manager Fidelity International and digital investment platform Moonfare are expanding their partnership geographically. According to a press release, this is in response to growing demand from investors who want to achieve attractive returns with alternative investment strategies in their portfolios.
The plan is for Moonfare to offer Fidelity’s institutional and authorized clients access to private market strategies through a digital platform. It said that the service would initially be available in Hong Kong and Singapore, with plans to expand to other Asian markets later.
