The Austrian exceet Card Group (exceet), a producer of payment cards, RFID, dual interface, and smart cards, announced the start of strategic cooperation with Berlin-based green fintech ecolytiq. The partnership aims to realize joint projects for more environmentally conscious consumer behavior in payment transactions. exceet is currently the only Visa and Mastercard manufacturer to offer certified payment cards with a real natural wood feel.
Ecolytiq GmbH is a leading green banking fintech whose Sustainability-as-a-Service® software solution makes individual environmental impacts visible based on payment transaction data and enables bank customers to actively contribute to climate protection through easy-to-implement changes in consumer behavior. In addition, the ecolytiq software enables bank customers to achieve climate neutrality through footprint offsets and investing in sustainable financial assets.
To actively promote more sustainable consumer behavior, Ecolytiq provides bank customers with a knowledge library that illustrates content, background, and information about individual environmental impacts. In addition, consumers have suggested suitable CO2 compensation offers from selected, certified organizations for each card-based payment transaction. Ecolytiq and the card manufacturer Exceet is thus able to work together with modern financial service providers and banks to raise awareness of the vital topic of sustainable banking.
Around 400 million bank cards, chip cards, ID documents, and customer cards are produced annually by the exceet, a large proportion of them at the production site and headquarters of Exceet Card Austria GmbH in Kematen, Tyrol. The company’s portfolio also includes cards that are primarily made from wood or recycled PETG and are already increasingly in demand and being used by banks, fintechs, or credit card companies.
