In November 2022, leading innovators, investors and policymakers from around the world will converge in Cape Town, South Africa, for the 8th edition of the Africa Fintech Summit (AFTS). The summit will be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from November 02 to 04, 2022.
With participants representing more than $4.5 billion in private equity and venture capital, AFTS is Africa’s leading global initiative dedicated to financial technology. In April, the biennial summit is held in Washington, D.C., and another African city in November. The AFTS Advisory Board unanimously selected Cape Town as the venue for 2022, recognizing South Africa’s position as one of the top 4 fintech ecosystems in Africa, Cape Town’s ranking as one of the top 3 startup cities in Africa, South Africa’s well-developed infrastructures with efficient financial, legal, energy, telecommunications and transportation systems, and a stock exchange that is Africa’s most significant and among the top 20 in the world.
H.E. Nomaindiya Mfeketo, South Africa’s Ambassador to the U.S., said, “I am delighted to welcome delegates to the Africa Fintech Summit in South Africa this year. We are committed to instilling the spirit of Ubuntu and the principles of “Batho Pele” (People First), which reflects our country’s values of putting humanity at the heart of everything we do.
