Cyprus-Based Payabl Led Million Investment in BDSwiss Spin-Off Klarpay!

The former Wirecard managers and partners Ruediger Trautmann, Ayelet (Fruchtlander) Knoechelmann, Frank Schoonbaert, and the Israeli Nissim Zarfati founded the PowerCash21 Group around 2010 with several legal entities in different jurisdictions. Sometime over the last couple of months, the PowerCash21 Group reincarnated into Payabl (PC42 profile) and recently led a CHF3 million seed finance round for Swiss FinTech Klarpay (PC42 profile).

PowerCash21 a/k/a PowerPay21 a/k/a PowerCard21 had different companies in Germany, UK and Cyprus. Currently, according to our information, the “new” Payabl operates only with Payabl.cy Ltd, which is registered in Cyprus.

The CEO of the Payabl Group is Ugne Buraciene (pictured left) who is also the Cyprus Country Ambassador of the European Women Payments Network (EWPN) and an advisor of Klarpay.

The Swiss FinTech Klarpay AG, registered in Zurich and doing business as Klarpay, looks like a sort of BDSwiss spin-off. At least when it comes to the involved people. The former director and co-founder of BDSwiss Group, the Lithuanian Martynas Bieliauskas, and the former BDSwiss CIO & CTO Christos Alatzidis founded Klarpay in 2019. The former BDSwiss Chief Financial Officer Marc Evans joined Klarpay in Feb 2022 as Chief Financial Officer.
