Swiss investment app startup Findependent (website) has raised CHF 1.2 million in a seed funding round. According to a LinkedIn posting, the money came from a group of institutional and private investors, with Backbone Ventures acting as the lead investor. Previous investors have followed suit, it added.
“I am pleased that we were able to complete the financing round as planned despite a market situation that was not entirely easy,” founder and CEO Matthias Bryner said.
Currently, the investment app already has almost 5,000 customers. Since the TV show “Die Höhle der Löwen” appeared last November, the number of customers has quadrupled. At that time, e-commerce entrepreneur Roland Brack and Amorana founder Lukas Speiser had participated with financing.
The investment app Findependent was founded in 2019 and went live in February 2021. Customers can invest in a range of ETFs and investment products there, the partner bank is Hypothekarbank Lenzburg.
