Swiss expense management startup Yokoy is expanding its leadership, bringing Simon O’Kane into the company. In spring, Yokoy had raised $80 million for further growth, including from prominent backer Sequoia.
As Chief Revenue Officer, Simon O’Kane will be responsible for Yokoy’s sales and marketing in the future. The Swiss fintech develops software for expense management – and, compared to its competitors, is aimed more at larger companies.
Until now, O’Kane was responsible for the international business of the project management tool Asana. He also made a career at software providers such as Qualtrics, Huddle and Salesforce.
Especially now in tough times, a spend management tool is essential because companies need to pay closer attention to costs, the company writes. In March, it announced an $80 million funding round led by prominent venture capitalist Sequoia. Yokoy also faces startup competitors like Spenddesk and Moss as it expands, but they tend to focus on startups and smaller companies.
