Pure Bitcoin Startup Relai Partners With Checkout.com!

Along with Coinfinity, 21bitcoin and Strike, the Swiss app Relai (website) has also made a name among bitcoin-only startups. They all skip the rest of the crypto assets and focus exclusively on trading the oldest and most prominent cryptocurrency, making them popular among Bitcoin maximalists.

Relai has now partnered with UK fintech unicorn Checkout.com. As its name suggests, it is very much about integrating payment solutions. Whereas Relai previously only allowed users to get money into the app via bank transfers and then use the funds to buy BTC, this is much faster. The integration now includes the payment methods Visa, Mastercard and Apple Pay.

According to Relai founder and CEO Julian Liniger, the goal of offering “the world’s simplest Bitcoin app” has now been achieved. It will be exciting to see whether competitors 21bitcoin and Coinfinity from Austria will follow suit with such a payment option.

Checkout.com itself has become one of the most essential service providers in the crypto sector. According to the company, 12 of the 15 largest crypto exchanges rely on the payment service provider, including Binance, Crypto.com, and KuCoin. In addition, the British fintech offers payments using the stablecoin USD Coin (USDC). This is intended to enable fast, low-cost international transactions.
