Zimpler (website), a Swedish-based paytech, has established its Latin American headquarters in São Paulo to serve growing local and regional markets. The paytech, which currently operates in eight European countries with offices in Sweden and Malta, is expanding beyond Europe for the first time.
Zimpler is a mobile payment method developed in Sweden. The company was initially founded to simplify mobile payments. Customers link their cards to Zimpler, and when they shop again, they have to provide their phone number to receive a verification code to make the payment.
A recent study conducted by the paytech company showed that “almost half of all online consumers (47%) in Brazil reported having abandoned an online purchase due to problems with e-commerce payment processes. This is “a gap in the Brazilian market that Zimpler fills thanks to its seamless and secure account-to-account payments.”
“Zimpler’s goal is to shape Open Banking in Latin America, and I am pleased to announce that we are taking the first step in that direction by establishing our LatAm headquarters in São Paulo. I am convinced that we can transform the market with our products – and the advantages they have over the currently available solutions.“”-stated the CEO of Zimpler, Johan Strand.
