Amazon Prime Is Working on FTX Story

An 8-part series about the crashed crypto exchange FTX is being planned by Amazon.
Avengers creators Anthony and Joseph Russo are to direct the series.

Amazon has ordered a miniseries on FTX, reports Variety. The Russo brothers, who have directed some of the central films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe – including “Avengers: Endgame” – are among the producers. According to the report, it is currently still open whether they will also direct individual episodes of the FTX series. The script for the pilot episode is to be written by David Weil, who was previously responsible for the Nazi hunter series “Hunters”.

The current target is eight episodes, with production set to start in spring 2023. The script will be based on insider reports from journalists who have been watching FTX and its founder Sam Bankman-Fried for some time. In view of the project’s early status, there is of course no information on actors or other details yet.

In a joint statement, the Russo brothers emphasize the great serializability of this affair. It is one of the biggest frauds of all time. In addition, the story touches on many topics – from celebrity culture to politics, science and tech to sex, drugs and finance.
